Lastly, we have the Crested Serpent-eagle, Spilornis cheela. Unlike the other Snake-eagles, this species is found in the dense forests of South and Southeast Asia, including India, Sri Lanka, and the Indonesian archipelago. The Crested Serpent-eagle is easily recognizable by its prominent crest of feathers and its loud, piercing call. It primarily hunts snakes, but it also consumes lizards, small mammals, and birds.
