These words from Jesus are some of the most difficult to understand in the entire New Testament. While the link to the Eucharist seems obvious to some, there is no Eucharist meal recorded in John's Gospel and Jesus' common use of metaphor in John suggests that we need to dig deeper for a comprehensive interpretation.
