Coney Island to open with 155-foot SkyWheel

Coney Island will have a special attraction when it opens May 26: a 155-foot Ferris wheel. The Coney Island SkyWheel features 36 six-person gondolas. Each ride will take about 10 minutes. At night, more than a half-million LED points of light will bright it to life. The SkyWheel is the largest mobile Ferris wheel-style ride in North America, so visitors will have to hurry: It's only at Coney Island for six weeks, ending its run July 8.
