Israel tells its BIGGEST LIE EVER to excuse invading the West Bank?

Right, so for the last three days we’ve seen Israel embarking upon the largest invasion of the West Bank in more than 20 years, no longer content it seems to continue to just repeatedly pummel the rubble of what was once the Gaza Strip, they’ve now moved onto the West Bank. The army has moved in, bulldozers have moved in, tear gas is being deployed, but Hamas are not in the West Bank we’ve always been told. After 11 months of genocide in Gaza, why all of a sudden now, is there Hamas in the West Bank that has to be dealt with? Awfully considerate of them to stand by and wait until Gaza is razed to the ground before making themselves known and forcing Israel’s hand to n ow invade the West Bank and deal with them isn’t it?
Unless of course this is all one big fat lie and is just Israel’s justification for rolling out it’s genocide to that other part of the Occupied Palestinian Territories. The much larger part and where that genocide in Gaza began in the north of the strip and worked it’s way south, so it seems the north of the West Bank is where Israel have conveniently discovered Hamas so they can conveniently begin all over again over there. Am I the only one struggling to believe this? I think not.
Right, so that was a clip of Dr Yara Hawari, the co-director of the Palestinian Policy Network, a pro Palestine think tank, speaking to Sky regarding Israel’s massive invasion now of the West Bank, now three days in and in it’s customary manner starts by picking the weakest targets, in this case the refugee camp at Jenin, just what is it with Israel and striking refugee camps?
Hawari gave an excellent accounting of exactly why Israel is really in the West Bank – they are there, because they can get away with being there. They have been shielded and protected by their AIPAC funded allies in the US and similar in other pro Israel states despite having obliterated the Gaza Strip and now feel emboldened enough to carry on in their desire to wipe out what remains of Palestine, in gross violation of international law and nobody can stop them, because any attempt to gets vetoed by those same bought and paid for vested interests. Everything that is meant to prevent genocide and another descent towards world war as this situation in the Middle East risks escalation to, is undermined because of politicians in the pockets of Zionists.
Thusfar Jenin, home to some 50,000 people, along with other assaults nearby in Nablus, Tubas and Tulkarem has seen 10 Palestinians killed with many more wounded. Israel’s Foreign Minister Israel Katz issued a statement which makes for interesting reading in the context of this video. He said:
‘The IDF is working intensively from tonight in the Jenin and Tulkarm refugee camps to thwart Islamic-Iranian terrorist infrastructures that have been established there. Iran is working to establish an eastern terrorist front against Israel in the West Bank, according to the Gaza and Lebanon model, by financing and arming terrorists and smuggling advanced weapons from Jordan. We must deal with the threat just as we deal with the terrorist infrastructure in Gaza, including the temporary evacuation of Palestinian residents and whatever steps are required. This is a war for everything and we must win it.’
Hmm, so no mention of Hamas there, certainly no hostages are being held in the West Bank either, though Israel obviously hold many hostages they’ve taken from the West bank, the press call them prisoners though, so that’s OK, notwithstanding the fact they don’t necessarily get held on any charges or even get told how long they’ll be held for. No, it’s Iran in the West bank according to this guy, so where did Hamas come into it because it is literally all pro Israel sources are talking about today.
The IDF put out a tweet saying:
‘Wassem Hazem, the head of Hamas in Jenin, was eliminated during a counterterrorism operation in the northern Samaria area. He was identified alongside a terrorist cell in a vehicle in the area. Hazem was involved in carrying out and directing shooting and bombing attacks, and continuously advanced terrorist activities in the Judea and Samaria area.’
There are a good deal of other accounts reporting this story too, saturating social media with it, or attempting to at any rate.
Head of Hamas in Jenin though? But Hamas are not in the West Bank. We’ve been told this a lot, I’ve reported on it too, mentioned it in plenty of other videos and despite the media dutifully reporting on this story, the only actual source we have for this claim is Israel itself. Here’s how Al-Jazeera have presented this story:
‘In the early hours of Friday, witnesses said three people were killed after Israeli forces attacked a car in the village of Zababdeh, south of Jenin.
‘Israel’s military said one of its aircraft had “attacked a terrorist squad” there following an “encounter with security forces”. Footage of the strike’s aftermath shows a car engulfed in flames.
The Jenin Battalion of al-Quds Brigades, the armed wing of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad, said earlier that its fighters engaged in “fierce clashes” with Israeli soldiers in Jenin.
Among those killed, according to the Israeli army, was Wissam Hazem, the head of Hamas in Jenin. There was no immediate confirmation from the Palestinian group.
The Palestinian Red Crescent Society said Israeli forces prevented ambulances from reaching the scene of the attack, according to Palestinian news agency Wafa.’
Israel have also blocked access to the Jenin Governmental Hospital in the West Bank, but sure, it’s all about Hamas right? How many hospitals are still standing in Gaza again?
So Al-Jazeera talk of Palestinian Islamic Jihad, not Hamas. Sure, they do their share of violence too, resisting Israel and it’s occupation, but Israel’s war is with Hamas isn’t it? Hamas took those hostages if you really believe that is what this is all about still, given how poor Israel has been at rescuing them, but that is one reason cited for them not to stop, Palestinian Islamic Jihad don’t have them, but is one resistance group as good as the next? Is this just an attempt to muddy the waters by Israel, if all these groups can be attributed to Hamas, even referred to as Hamas, then surely that will help their narrative that they need to widen their efforts to the West Bank to ensure Netanyahu’s crackpot Total Victory nonsense?
What we’re seeing here is exactly as Dr Hawari said, it’s an excuse to carry on it’s genocide against the Palestinian people. There is zero excuse, zero justification in what we’ve seen happen in Gaza now happen in the much larger West Bank as well. It’s a land grab, its an oppression where the oppressor gets away time after time with claiming to be the oppressed, claiming to be the victim and after getting on for a year of witnessing every nit of barbarity meted out under Netanyahu in Gaza, the thought of that carrying on and still no action by the international community, the UN, neutered so badly as they have been that even their own food agency trucks are not safe from attack because Israel knows it will never face any consequences. Any attempt to censure them at the UN Security Council will be met with that US veto again and whilst they stand by Israel as they commit Nakba 2.0, we all sit by watching in horror wondering when will enough actually be enough, our growing anger and disgust and demands for justice for the Palestinian people fall on deaf ears as our politicians are completely juxtaposed to national opinion, such is the influence of the Zionist Lobby.
Something has to shift politically, because if this continues as it has for the last 11 months, continues into the West Bank for months and months to come as we’ve seen in Gaza, public opinion against Israel will continue to curdle and sour even more than it already has, and no amount of clampdowns on those speaking out against such things as we’ve seen here in the UK with the arrests of Richard Medhurst and Sarah Wilkinson will change that attitude either, that genie is out of the bottle now. The more public opinion turns against Israel, the more it will turn against the politicians siding with them and proving to be roadblocks in ending this genocide rather than working towards ending it because that means sanctioning Israel rather than bending to it’s will.
