Replacing the front brake rotors and pads when worn is essential to Land Rover LR3 ownership. Brakes are one of your vehicle's most important safety items, as they affect you and everyone else driving around you. Ensuring they're healthy and effective is a necessity.

Both the rotors and pads are meant to wear. They grind against each other, causing friction that slows and stops the vehicle. Typically, they'll last around the 40,000 to 60,000-mile range, but that's determined by outside factors such as driving styles and road conditions. Luckily, they're very straightforward to replace with a few hand tools.

In this video, Mike Hidalgo, FCP Euro's Professional DIY'er, replaces the front brake pads and rotors on a Land Rover LR3.
