In this video, we discuss ISF 10+2 and the responsibilities of a customs broker. ISF, or Importer Security Filing, is a requirement by US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) to provide information about the cargo before it arrives in the United States. ISF 10+2 specifically pertains to the responsibilities of the customs broker. As a customs broker, one of the main responsibilities is to file the ISF on behalf of the importer, ensuring that all necessary information is accurate and complete. Customs brokers also have a responsibility to ensure compliance with customs regulations and requirements, staying updated with the ever-changing rules and regulations. They guide importers in obtaining the appropriate customs bond, which is a financial guarantee for payment of duties, taxes, or fees owed to the CBP. Customs brokers are also responsible for managing and preparing customs documents, communicating and coordinating with the CBP, and acting as a liaison between importers and other parties involved in the importation process.
