The Palm Beach Years - 2 year extended working vacation SPRING BREAK - The Breakers Resort 5 Star / 5 Diamond Rating. Working as one of only 2 straight waiters in the Beach Club. Amazingly, in 1986 I was working my second job as a desk clerk at the Palm Beach Hilton when a little nerdy man in a brown suit walked up to the desk and demanded his room key ahead of being checked in. I told him he needed a credit card and I was in an altered state….

We started arguing loudly and I called him an asshole !!

Turned out he was John McCain !

One thing many of you DO NOT KNOW ABOUT PALM BEACH ( dig this ) there is a massive KENNEDY ESTATE on the North side of the Island. I would know. I once took two girls skinny dipping in the Atlantic Ocean directly out from their house. The sand wasn’t as soft as the Hotel Beach in the middle of the Island however.

Even then, back in ‘86 I grinned realizing that we were far far far from being the first swimmers to ever frolic and splash around out there like Sea Otters wearing just our “ birthday suits “ !!
