German media accuse Palestinian of Nazi salute

A Palestinian refugee from Lebanon told the Middle East Monitor that he was falsely accused of doing a Nazi salute by the German media. Mahmoud Abu El-Nasr was pictured in pro-Israel newspaper Bild with a straight arm pointing up but he says he and other protesters were simply trying to cover a journalist’s camera.

Mahmoud’s picture with his arm in this position was published in the Bild Zeitung - Europe’s most read newspaper - without any context or right to reply from Mahmoud. He feels some Germans are trying to portray Palestine protesters and those opposing Israel’s genocide as Nazis in order to ‘atone for the crimes of the Holocaust’.
