Makarov PM East Germany 9x18 9mm pistol comprehensive review. The Russian-designed Makarov pistol dates from the early 1950's and became the standard issue pistol for both the Soviet forces and the Warsaw Pact. Influenced by the famous German Walther PP, the Makarov was chambered for the Soviet 9x18mm cartridge. The Makarov was manufactured in several Eastern Bloc countries during the Cold War and afterwards, but it was the East German-made Makarovs which are the most widely preferred on the market today for their exceptional build and attractive finish. Includes range activity and a demonstration of disassembly and reassembly.
