215. Cancer is a Disease of Immunity - Primarily - Dr. Lewis

Cancer and Infection (chronic) overlap. Interestingly, when a person improves immunity biomarkers, their cancer risks and outcomes improve. Thus, even though we look at a tumor as a separate entity from what we normally think is part of the body, infection probably engulfs the tumor.

Here are the "Hallmarks of Cancer." Discussed in this webinar is how infection "checks the boxes" of every "Hallmark of Cancer."

it stimulates its own growth
it evades growth-suppressing signals
it resists cell death (apoptosis)
it enables replicative immortality (similar to 3.)
it induces the ability to grow new blood vessels to further tumor growth (angiogenesis)
it spreads to distant sites (metastasis) - Focal to systemic infections
it can evade the immune system
it has a “reprogramming of energy metabolism” (the “Warburg Effect)

Pat – In general, the low copper diet is meant to restrict foods that are usually high in copper, especially organ meats, shellfish, dried beans, peas, whole wheat, and chocolate that is high in cocoa such as dark chocolate. Drinking water should be analyzed because it may contain too much copper.
