My Best Race Yet - Race #26 on LFM - Red Bull Ring

On this week on LFM, 4th week of August 2024, we are again on the Red Bull Ring for the weekly 25minute races.

After 2 increasingly better races finishing in the top 10 we come to this 3rd race on Spielberg - the Red Bull Ring, which is arguably till now my best race in LFM.

Finishing 5th, I was able to increase my consistency, and although lap times still are not the best they could be (I have an extra second in me added up with my best splits in fact and I can't seem to nail it just yet) they are competitive enough for the group I am in. With minimal errors made, I was able to pull off a very exciting race for me, getting my first proper Top 5 result.

Although the battle for 4th was also in my sights, unfortunately I was bumped 3 times during the race by other driver mistakes. The last of which cost me just over 3 seconds and increased the gap to the car in front to 7 seconds. From a "Blue Flagger" much less as well.....

Fending off these "intrusions" was equally satisfying, as well as annoying, but mostly satisfying. Usually mistakes from others cost me a pit in and a race to the finish in the last positions. Something that has happened more often than I would like. This time I was lucky it wasn't as gnarly and was able to push forward even with some damage to the car.
