My dog is always there for me

My rescue dog rescued me. I have leukemia and sometimes my legs are really weak and I fall but he always does this. He comes over uses his head to lift my chin and steps in toward me so I can use him as a stool to get back on my feet. I never taught him this. He just knows. He was abandoned as a puppy and spent two years in the animal shelter before we picked him out. We rescued him but he rescued me. I use to be one of those people afraid of pit bulls. I was scared when we picked him out. His name at the shelter was and still is Merlin. He had to be fixed after we adopted him as part of the adoption. They did a bad job and he was a bleeder. I stayed by his side day and night. He is a pit bull boxer mixed. Merlin is definitly an appropriate name as he cast a spell on us at the county pet clinic. He is my love as I have never loved a dog this much.
