A Ukrainian drone attack set an oil depot on fire in Russia’s Rostov region, according to regional Governor Vasily Golubev.

The attack, which took place overnight, resulted in a blaze at the depot in Rostov’s Kamensky district, though no casualties were reported.

Russia’s Ministry of Defence claimed to have destroyed four drones in the region but did not mention the oil depot strike.

This incident is part of a series of Ukrainian attacks on Russian oil and gas facilities, retaliating for strikes on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure.

The fire follows a similar drone attack on another oil facility in the Rostov region earlier in August, Al-Jazeera has reported.
