The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said Wednesday night that it had recovered the body of a hostage held captive in Gaza for nearly 11 months. While the hostage has not been identified, the IDF said he is an Israeli soldier who was killed on Oct. 7 and abducted into Gaza.

The IDF statement: "The IDF and ISA rescued a fallen soldier who was abducted on October 7th and held hostage in the Gaza Strip.
