IN THE INQUIRY: Letting Go vs. Releasing

Hi! I’m Lindsay. Walk with me. Talk with me.
On my walk home from the market I reflect on the distinction between letting go and releasing. What's the difference?

As a yoga educator, artist and fellow human being, I am very curious and interested in being in the conversations, experiments and inquiries of what it means to be human.

The alignment of my thoughts, words and actions, walking my talk and discovering my own yoga on and off the mat is my personal daily practice of tolerating the consequences of being myself.

I’m here with a brave and open heart to share this journey with you. I’ve rolled out my physical and metaphorical yoga mat next to yours and invite you to roll out your mat, roll up your sleeves and get ready to delve into a deeper inquiry and curiosity of your own human existence….together. :)

Sometimes we do this through physical and energetic movement, guided yoga classes, breath and meditation experiences, storytelling, sitting in circles and through sharing life experiences, embodied wisdom, insights, inspiration and current self-expressions.

My current self-expressions are often unscripted, unfiltered, unedited and real-time video diary entries and I’m often just as surprised at what comes out of my mouth as other people are! This can feel quite vulnerable but also really freeing.

My beautiful and fully expressed self can be a lot for some people, I know. (I’m a lot for myself sometimes!) I also know I can be quite confronting when I’m unleashed. (I’m confronted by my own humanity ALL the time!)

Remember when I said that my PRACTICE was discovering who I am and tolerating the consequences of being myself?

It’s a practice and no one is perfect (as a recovering perfectionist I can tell you from experience it’s an unattainable quest and caused me a lot of necessary and unnecessary suffering).

I’m also growing, learning and evolving along with you so please be kind and respect your fellow DYY community members and this shared space by keeping comments and engagements kind and respectful. My personal intention and the intention of this Discover Your Yoga community platform is always, always, always, wholeheartedly, to be of kind, compassionate and loving service to self and others.

Other times my invitations and offerings are opportunities for you to experience the magical healing arts, the power of community events, retreat and travel experiences and the medicine of my unconditional love and heartfelt humour…
(even if it’s only me that thinks I’m funny)

My willingness to stay more committed to my calling and life purpose (which is self-realization and loving service) than to the comfort or discomfort of the present moment is why I’m here, on this platform, in this arena, being brave and showing up on the battlefield AND playground of my beautiful life. Let’s get ready to RUMBLE!!

If you’re a human being interested in what it means, for you, to be a human being, you’re at the right place.

Welcome to my channel :)

IN THIS VIDEO: “What is the difference between “letting go” and “releasing?”

A friend recently shared this distinction with me that I hadn’t put much thought into or really considered before.

Let’s explore this topic and start the conversation in the comments :)
