A BODY has been found in the search for a missing mum who disappeared while out on a walk more than two weeks ago.

Christine Stenson vanished on August 12 with a series of CCTV snaps showing her in the Wheatley area of Doncaster, South Yorkshire.

The 66-year-old is thought to have been dropped at an address on Hawke Road at around 5.05pm.

South Yorkshire Police believe she left the address on foot within five minutes and she was later seen on CCTV at 5.57pm that same evening walking along Cantley Lane on the end near to the A638.

She was walking in the direction of Rose Hill Cemetery.

It's understood Christine had met up with her sister earlier in the day for coffee and lunch.

In an update on social media this afternoon, police said: "Officers searching for missing 66-year-old woman Christine, who was last seen on Monday 12 August, have today (Tuesday 27 August) found a body.

"While formal identification is yet to take place, officers believe it to be that of Christine.

"Her family has been informed and continue to be supported by officers at this time.

"We want to take this opportunity to thank the public who have been incredibly supportive in sharing our appeals about Christine’s disappearance and for passing on information to assist our inquiry.
