In this video, we explore Hadith 18 from Sahih Bukhari, where 'Ubada bin As-Samit (رضي الله عنه), a companion who took part in the Battle of Badr and was one of the Naqibs (leaders), narrates the conditions of a pledge of allegiance made to the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ). The Prophet (ﷺ) asked his companions to swear allegiance to uphold the following principles:

Worship none but Allah.
Refrain from stealing.
Abstain from illegal sexual intercourse.
Do not kill your children.
Avoid slandering innocent people.
Obey orders to do good deeds.
The Prophet (ﷺ) also explained that those who fulfill their pledge will be rewarded by Allah, while those who fail but repent may be forgiven or punished by Allah as He wills.

Hadith Text: Narrated 'Ubada bin As-Samit:
Allah's Apostle said while a group of his companions were around him, "Swear allegiance to me for:

Not to join anything in worship along with Allah.
Not to steal.
Not to commit illegal sexual intercourse.
Not to kill your children.
Not to accuse an innocent person (to spread such an accusation among people).
Not to be disobedient (when ordered) to do good deeds." Reference: Sahih al-Bukhari 18
