Pro-Palestine protesters attempted to get into a private Zi*nist event attended by a few top politicians on the second day of the Democratic National Convention (DNC) in Chicago.

Agudath Israel of America, an advocacy group for Orthodox Jews, reportedly organised the meeting on 20 August at the Marriott Marquis hotel, a few miles from the convention.

Thousands of people have been on the streets for months and at the convention, calling for a ceasefire and arms embargo against Israel. A few Democratic Party delegates could not convince the party to include a Palestinian speaker in their nightly lineup, revealing Israel’s stranglehold on US politics.

Meanwhile, the party’s presidential nominee, US Vice President Kamala Harris, has vowed unflinching support for Israel despite Tel Aviv’s military onslaught k*lling more than 40,000 Palestinians, mostly women and children. A Lancet medical journal report estimated Israel has k*lled more than 186,000 Palestinians in the Gaza Strip as of early July.

Do you think pro-Palestine protesters were right to disrupt the Zi*nist gathering at the DNC?
