Passion of Christopher The Doghead

Irish Passion of Christopher. Based on texts preserved by two early 15th-century manuscripts, one, only partly legible, in the Leabhar Breac and the other in the Liber Flavus Fergusiorum.

Yet another record of the now extinct Dogheads (Cynocephalus). These creatures are historically recorded to have existed by the likes of Ctesias, Christopher Columbus and Marco Polo. It is also rumored that three of David's mighty men were also Cynocephalus. They were known to be fierce, unbeatable warriors and just in their ways.

This is the story of Reprobus, a wise Cynocephalus who was captured in battle. He possessed wisdom and cried out to God for the gift of human speech, which he received, adopting the name of Christopher at baptism.
