The Apostle Paul, on one of his missionary trips, found some disciples of John in Ephesus. He asked them if they received the Holy Spirit when they believed. They told him that they had not even heard whether there was a Holy Spirit!
Unfortunately, this same ignorance about the Holy Spirit and His work seems to permeate the church today. Prayerfully, this overview study of the Holy Spirit and His work in salvation will enlighten the eyes of our understanding and cause us to live more faithfully for Christ.
The Holy Spirit is one of the members of the God Head (Trinity) eternally existent and equal with God the Father and God the Son in His essence. Like the Father and the Son, the Holy Spirit also has a part in our salvation. He is involved in five key ministries facilitating our salvation. We cover the last two today.
