Sleeping ugly and the sleeping beauty

The story is about Princess Mazzarella, who is beautiful on the outside but mean and wicked on the inside. She enjoys being cruel to animals and people, never says thank you, and often tells lies. One day, she gets lost in the woods and encounters a disguised fairy, whom she treats rudely. The fairy leads Mazzarella to Plain Jane's humble cottage. Jane is plain-looking but kind-hearted and loves animals.

The fairy offers three wishes, and despite Mazzarella's rudeness, Jane uses her wishes to help the princess. However, Mazzarella’s stubbornness leads to trouble, including having her foot turned to stone and toads coming out of her mouth when she says "stupid." Eventually, the fairy’s wand breaks, putting everyone to sleep for a hundred years.

A poor prince named Jojo stumbles upon the cottage after the hundred-year sleep. He kisses the fairy and Jane, waking them both up, but wisely avoids kissing the still-sleeping princess Mazzarella. The prince falls in love with Jane, and they live happily ever after, leaving the wicked princess to sleep forever. The moral of the story is to let sleeping princesses lie, or lying princesses sleep, whichever seems wisest.
