One Cop, Two Shootings

The vast majority of police officers go through an entire career without having to fire their weapon in the line of duty.
Today I speak with retired California Highway Patrol Assistant Chief Brian Smith who was involved in two on-duty fatal shootings.
Brian walks us through these chilling events, each of which very nearly took his life.
He also details the psychological impact to himself and his family, and how he used the experiences to create an entirely new support system for officers and their loved ones.
