A Pelican's Thirst

A pelican soars, with wings outstretched wide,
Scanning the waters, far and wide.
It spots a pond, a shimmering sight,
A refreshing drink, to quench its thirst at night.

With a graceful dive, it plunges deep,
Its beak wide open, a treasure to keep.
The water fills its pouch, a salty taste,
A satisfying meal, a welcome feast.

It rises again, with a satisfied sigh,
The pelican's thirst, now quenched dry.
A majestic bird, with a heart so true,
Finding nourishment, in nature's hue.
