SCHEMING LANDLORDS ABOUT TO GET WHAT THEY DESERVE!

YA WANNA KNOW WHY RENTS ARE SO HIGH?
DOJ charges major landlords with price fixing rents.

● THERE ARE MONOPOLY LAWS FOR A REASON! ●

It’s a fact that the rents we’ve seen haven’t just ‘coincidentally’ risen together, in concert, in unison. You look at a 2br apartment in Boise, Idaho which has had it’s rent bumped from $790 a month to over $2,300 dollars … all in the span of only five (5) years.

Okay, you might look at the corporation that owns this particular 200 unit neighborhood and say, “It’s just them.” But it’s not! Major corporations construct, own, and manage multiplex complexes where there are literally hundreds of units in a single project. Apparently it’s not enough for them to just make money, not when they hold such power over so many.

“Power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts absolutely.” … Lord Acton.

Even worse is the effect they’ve had on smaller landlords, such as the family that owns an 8-unit complex or a mid-sized corporation that owns 40 or 50 units. When they look around and see what the huge monster rental complexes are doing they follow suit. Greed is universal and the horrible example these major corporations present are like unto a disease. There’s your real pandemic!

In the past I’ve bitched about these ‘Evil Landlords’ and we’ve seen the results of their nearly criminal acts of greed and their apparently unbridled abuse of power.

According to the DOJ, and I quote from the NY Post: “The Justice Department has sued real estate tech firm RealPage for allegedly allowing landlords to use its software to illegally collude to raise rents for tenants nationwide.

The bombshell lawsuit — filed jointly with eight states: California, Colorado, Connecticut, Minnesota, North Carolina, Oregon, Tennessee and Washington State — alleges that RealPage helped landlords fix prices that jacked up monthly rents for millions of tenants.

The Justice Department points to statements by RealPage executives that it says show they realized they were helping to dampen competition in the rental housing market.”

This is just the tip of the iceberg and there’s no way you can convince me that RealPage’s reach hasn’t extended to other states, if not directly but by example … or ‘proxy’ if you will. It’s not just California, Colorado, Connecticut, Minnesota, North Carolina, Oregon, Tennessee, and Washington State. I contend this has had equally harmful effect in Idaho, Utah, Nevada, Arizona, and a lot more than named in DOJ’s lawsuit against RealPage.

RealPage is alleged to have allowed large-holding multi-billion dollar corporate landlords to collude and even conspire using RealPage software. DOJ alleges more than ignorance, but an open role in the coordinated rent rate hikes which have crossed the land from sea to shining sea.
Officials from RealPage deny these allegations. Are you surprised? Really? Of course they deny. Their defence in court will be to deny, deny, deny.

It’s time we did something to rein these bastards in. Surely there is justification to sue and charge these sons of bitches. Action is needed as these multi-billion dollar behemoths continue to enslave millions upon millions of American tenants, trapping them with no obvious or easy way out.

I’m Max, and that’s the way I see it!
