Syrian man arrested over deadly knife attack in Germany; Isis claims responsibility

A 26-year-old Syrian man, identified as Issa Al H., was arrested for a knife attack in Solingen, Germany, that killed three people and injured eight others during the city’s anniversary celebration.

The Islamic State claimed responsibility, stating the attack was carried out in revenge for Muslims.

The suspect, who had applied for asylum in Germany, turned himself in and admitted to the attack, motivated by radical Islamist beliefs.

The German Federal Prosecutor’s office has charged him with multiple counts of murder and attempted murder, NBC News has reported.
