✈️ The French Embassy in Moscow today: since this morning, paper airplanes have been left here in support of Pavel Durov, who was detained yesterday in Paris.

In 2021, the founder of Telegram wrote in his channel that the paper airplane on the messenger's logo signifies freedom.

⏹The Paris prosecutor's office, to which Durov's case was transferred, plans to make a statement to the press on August 26.

⏹The Russian Embassy demanded that Paris ensure the protection of Durov's rights and provide consular access to him. So far, the French side has avoided cooperation.

⏹Paris perceives Durov's French citizenship as its primary one.

⏹Durov's detention was commented on by former US intelligence officer Edward Snowden. He called the actions of the Paris security forces a humiliation for France and the whole world.

💬"Durov's arrest is an attack on the basic human rights of freedom of speech and association. I am surprised and deeply saddened that Macron has stooped to the level of hostage-taking as a way to gain access to private messages. This is humiliating not only for France, but for the entire world," Snowden wrote on his X page.
