The Wall Must Come Down

Walls around a home are normal, but walls dividing a home, making half of it inaccessible by the other half, prevents a home from being fully functional.

Israel's security barrier may have some short term benefits. It may limit the ability for terrorist attacks and there are certainly many steps to be taken before it comes down. That being said, all who are living on or who care for the land must never forget that this wall is unsustainable and is an insult to the aspirations of the collectives connected to it.

This land is not just a piece of property or territory, it is our soulmate and it must be cherished and protected as a whole, never cut up into pieces.

Before the wall comes down, and it will, we must first fix the human relations between the populations in conflict. Trust must be built from the ground up, and those with power must take the responsibility to use their power and lead the change needed to proceed.

Too many have been conditioned to seeing this wall as their source of protection rather than a main source of division, as a solution rather than a furthered problem, or as a cost of war rather than a misguided policy.

We have normalized the body being cut off from its heart and the heart not having access to its body. It's time we start healing the land we live on and uniting the peoples who will forever live here together.

If this triggers you then it’s time for you to hear this and get used to the idea because the wall must come down.
