"The Primevals" | My Role As Music Assistant To Richard Band

This is the second video in a series of video journals recounting my anecdotal experiences working with film composer Richard Band as his Assistant Composer since 2021. This video focuses on the tasks I did for Richard on the sci-fi/fantasy/adventure film "The Primevals".

In a nutshell, I was tasked to assist on the creation of several cues in the film. I go into deatil on my work flow process vs his and how that created several significant challenges with working remotely. I also disuss my personal workflow process as it was in 2022 before completely changing it as a result of lessons learned on this project which have advanced my composing skills, technical knowledge and working at a professional level.

As always, I sneak in a few music clips through out and I present a bonus section at the end of the video with 2 complete orchestral mock-ups that ultimately would be re-recorded by a real orchestra and used in the final movie.
