Welcome to our Free Medical Missionary Training (2019) Class 33: Water Treatments. Today we’ll talk about something important: getting ourselves and others healthy! As believers, we know our bodies are God's temple, so taking care of them is a way to show our gratitude. Today, we will be learning how to heal our body and keep it healthy with hydrotherapy also called water treatments and staying true to our faith as Seventh-day Adventists.

As people of faith, we understand the importance of caring for our bodies – they are, after all, temples of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:19). Maintaining a healthy mind and body is a vital aspect of this stewardship.

Treating the symptoms, which is what modern medicine mostly does is not the answer. We need a healthy lifestyle to heal and then stay healthy. Hydrotherapy or water treatments are another tool to help you get to optimal health.

The SDA Church champions the "Whole Health" message, a holistic approach to well-being that extends beyond mere diet. It emphasizes honoring God's Sabbath and creation by nurturing our physical, mental, and spiritual selves. Embracing this philosophy allows us to express gratitude for the remarkable gift of life.

Science reinforces this concept. Plant-based foods like whole grains, fruits, vegetables, legumes, and nuts are powerhouses for managing our health. This approach aligns with the principles of clean living outlined in Leviticus and Deuteronomy.

The Bible itself offers valuable insights for healthy living. Avoiding unclean foods serves as a foundational principle for making choices that benefit both our faith and our cardiovascular health (Leviticus 11 & Deuteronomy 14). However, moderation is key! Even healthy options like avocados should be enjoyed in reasonable portions.

If you find yourself with health problems, there's no need to panic. Several evidence-based strategies can help manage it, including hydrotherapy. Consulting with a faith based doctor or registered dietitian is an excellent first step. They can develop a customized plan that integrates your faith, dietary preferences, and overall health or just use the information contained in the two month healing program.
