Podcasts Saint Bartholomew mentioned only in the lists of the apostles in the New Testament is often identified with Nathanael a man from Cana in Galilee. Nathanael was introduced to Jesus by Philip and Jesus praised him as a true Israelite without deceit. After an interaction involving a mysterious revelation about seeing Nathanael under a fig tree Nathanael recognized Jesus as the Son of God and the King of Israel. Nathanael witnessed even greater things including Jesus' post-resurrection appearance by the Sea of Tiberias where Jesus miraculously guided the apostles to a large catch of fish and shared a meal with them. This was the third time Jesus appeared to his apostles after his resurrection
