On Thursday at the Democratic Party's 2024 convention in Chicago, Ill., the current U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris formally accepted the party's presidential nomination.

During her speech, Harris criticized GOP candidate and former president Donald Trump, saying, "Consider not only the chaos and calamity when he was in office, but also the gravity of what has happened since he lost the last election," she said, adding, "Just imagine Donald Trump with no guardrails. And how he would use the immense powers of the presidency of the United States."

On the international front, Harris reiterated her support for Israel's right to self-defense and expressed determination to stand strong with Ukraine and NATO allies.

She also affirmed the commitment of the Biden administration to work towards a hostage deal and a ceasefire in Gaza. "I will always stand up for Israel's right to defend itself," she said.
