Plastics have been the bane of every BMW engine bay for thirty years. The F8X-based M-cars with the S55 engine have much better cooling systems than in years past but hang onto the plastic-related issues in the form of charge pipe cracks. Charge pipes deliver pressurized air from the turbos to the intercooler, and any crack means boost leaks that will throw the engine computer into a panic.

Replacing the charge pipes with a non-OE alternative is the best way to prevent future boost leaks from damaged charge pipes. There are a few that have proven to work well, but nothing quite comes close to the carbon fiber pipes from Eventuri. The molded cross-directional carbon weave is as strong as it comes, ensuring cracks from torsional stress won't happen. They also follow a very similar contour to the factory pipes, unlike other aftermarket solutions made from metal tubing, making their fitment OE quality.

In this video, Mike Hidalgo, FCP Euro's Professional DIYer, replaces failed S55 charge pipes on a BMW F82 M4.
