Mercedes Sprinter Van PCV System Diagnosis (2006-2018 Mercedes-Benz W906, OM642)

The PCV system on Mercedes' OM642 diesel engine is quite different than that of its gasoline engines. It also has to work harder due to the nature of diesel engines, so faults are a bit more common. Replacement intervals are shorter, but the faults bad systems can cause, like intake flap failures and excessive oil consumption, are like you'd find in any other engine.
