US JASSM missiles for Ukraine can reach Moscow and key targets in Crimea
The U.S. JASSM (Joint Air-to-Surface Standoff Missile) being provided to Ukraine is a significant development in the ongoing conflict, given its extended range and precision capabilities. These missiles, particularly the JASSM-ER (Extended Range) variant, have a range of around 925 kilometers (575 miles). This range allows Ukrainian forces to target high-value locations deep within Russian territory, including the capital, Moscow, as well as strategic military sites in Crimea.

The JASSM missiles are designed to evade enemy defenses with low-observable (stealth) technology and can deliver a powerful warhead accurately to its target. For Ukraine, this means they can potentially disrupt key Russian military operations, logistics, and command centers far behind the front lines. The ability to target locations such as Moscow or critical facilities in Crimea is a strategic game-changer, adding significant pressure on Russian military planning and operations.

This new capability might also escalate tensions, as it introduces a direct threat to Russian territory and key assets, potentially leading to new dynamics in the conflict.
