lions can climb trees, although they are not as adept at it as some other big cats, like leopards. Lions may climb trees to escape from danger, to find a cooler place to rest, or to get a better vantage point. However, they tend to be more terrestrial than arboreal, and climbing is not their primary behavior. Some lion populations, particularly in regions like the Serengeti or certain areas in Botswana, are known to climb trees more frequently than others.
