Protesters tore down a section of fence as they tried to storm parliament building in Jakarta. Police fired tear gas and water cannon to disperse the crowds, as the demonstrators threw stones at the officers. The unrest prompted the legislature to delay a vote on changes to election laws, that could further enhance the political influence of outgoing President Widodo.
