Tricks to Teach your Horse

This is a very old video from 2013. I put it here on Rumble to show training and some tricks you can teach a young horse that strengthen your horse/rider relationship. It doesn't show HOW to teach the tricks. Just that they CAN be taught. None of these tricks are "finished"... and then the horse was sold by the owner. Such is life. But fun to teach and mess with your ponies to keep your horse/rider relationship light-hearted and safe.

CONTESSA CK

Contessa is a 2006 old Andalusian filly/mare with a great temperament and overall mind and work ethic. She is sired by pure Spanish stallion, Astuto and her dam goes back to Garrison breeding of the Spanish/Portuguese "Andalusians." Her grandmother, Aerial, has produced several champions in the Andalusian show circuit and her daughters have produced national champions as well.

Contessa is well started under saddle. She is walk, trot, and canter in the arena and goes willing onto our trails which are along housing tracts and city streets. Thus, she is intimately familiar with motorcycles, trash trucks, barking dogs and even emus. She is very smooth to ride and easy to work with. However, I'm not sure she has had to face streams or log jumping!

She is probably fifteen two to three hands tall and is getting lighter in color every year. She is started in the Spanish Walk; she stands on a pedestal, will take a bow and lies down. These tricks won't stay with her unless you have a trainer who knows how to maintain them.

She also has a luxurious mane and tail and lots of presence.

Contessa and her rider have just competed in their first dressage show at training level and although she was just 'learning the ropes' she received individual movement scores in the 7's and obviously has tons of potential.
