Herod the Great fulfilled two Old Testament prophecies in his life. He ordered the murder of babies in Bethlehem, fulfilling Jeremiah's prophecies. Joseph fled to Egypt, but after his death, they returned, fulfilling Hosea's prophecies. Herod built a temple in Jerusalem, and his son killed John the Baptist and allowed Jesus to be crucified. However, Herod did not realize that the baby he was trying to kill would later become God in flesh and bring salvation to mankind.
