Indrid Cold and the Smiling Man

In 1966, a sowing machine salesman had a bizarre encounter with an alien. The alien said his name was Indrid Cold, the smile on his face never changed. Over the years, people have referred to him as the Smiling Man which is also a cryptid from more modern times. Here is what there is about both these beings, or, are they the same thing.
