Manhattan DA signals openness to delaying Trump criminal sentencing

The Manhattan district attorney’s office has indicated it won’t oppose delaying former President Trump’s sentencing in his hush money case, scheduled for September 18.

Trump has requested the delay until after the November presidential election, citing plans to appeal if the judge doesn’t overturn the guilty verdict following a Supreme Court ruling on presidential immunity.

Prosecutors, while rejecting most of Trump’s arguments, deferred to the judge on whether to grant the delay, raising concerns about potential disruptions if the appeals process is last-minute, The Hill has reported.
