Hey everyone, it's Lisa Jo, your essential oil girl! Today was quite an adventure as I finally got my driver's license on my third attempt here in Denver. Unlike my experiences in Georgia and Florida, the process here had a unique twist: there were no eye-testing machines! Instead, you had to read an eye chart from about 20 feet away, right in front of everyone.

Navigating the DMV can be a spectacle itself, and today was no exception.

Language Barrier Alert:

One moment that stuck with me was a family who clearly did not speak English and was struggling to understand what was required when asked to read from the eye chart. It made me ponder how we handle such essential tests for non-English speakers. Should there be more inclusive methods like the simple signs used in kindergarten?

Moreover, I noticed some people couldn't read the chart at all. It left me wondering about the measures in place for such situations. Do they still get their driver's license? It's a process that seems to need a bit more accommodation or perhaps a different approach to ensure everyone's safety on the road.

And, oh! Let me tell you about my driver's license photo — when you're 6 feet tall and the camera's aimed at your belly button, the results are...interesting.
