BEST FOR HORSES/STOCK - Campsite #1 @ Irondyke Campground! | Lostine River Wallowa Whitman Eagle Cap

This is Irondyke Forest Campground (July 12, 2024), a First Come, First Served rustic Campground with 5 Campsites, in the middle of the National Wild & Scenic Lostine River Zone, near Francis Lake /Bowman Trailhead and Maxwell Lake Trailheads.

Campsite #1 is a GREAT Campsite specifically designed for Horses/Stock with a lot of room for trailers and equipment. Campsite #2 is a much smaller, more classic and ordinary rustic Campsite. Campsites #3, #4 & #5 were taken and seemed of average quality.

My main takeaway was being very impressed by the quality of Campsite #1 as a Horse/Stock friendly Campsite! With the Francis Lake Trailhead being nearby and a popular backpacking destination for large groups with Horses/Stock, I can't help but think that Campsite #1 @ Irondyke Forest Campground would play a key role in such a Wilderness Adventure!
