The Georgia Election Board passed a rule giving local election officials the ability to investigate ballot counts before certifying the results.
The board voted 3-2 to approve the “Rule for Reconciliation Prior to Certification”, that would require election workers to compare the total number of votes cast, with the number of ID’d voters in the system to ensure that “the total number of ballots cast” does not exceed “the total number of persons who voted’
If there are any discrepancies found in any precinct the counties are required to withhold certifying the results of the election, until the issues are addressed.
The rule says that the Board will investigate the discrepancies, and the results of that investigation must be presented to the board as required in Georgia
