Discover the Forgotten Austro-Hungarian Seaplane HQ - Hidden Maritime Legacy #croatia
Former Austro Hungarian Seaplane HQ or Hidrobaza Pula is a historic seaplane base located in Pula, Croatia. Originally established during the Austro-Hungarian Empire, the site was used primarily for military purposes, particularly as a base for seaplanes during both World Wars. The location is strategically important due to its position along the Adriatic coast, which provided easy access for maritime operations.
Due to its status as an army base, the site has remained highly untouched and undeveloped.
Today, the area around Hidrobaza has been repurposed for recreational and tourist activities. The beach at Hidrobaza is a popular destination for both locals and tourists, offering clear waters, pebble shores, and various amenities.
Unfortunately there are absolutely nothing worth seeing ruins in the wasteland/bushland between the beach campsite and the town of Stinjan.
Completely empty, full of rubbish, sprayed with mindless paint smears. Part collapsed. In total, the marked building and 3 other, larger buildings further south.
Absolutely a must-see!
The site has a special historical value as a former Naval Air Station of the Austro-Hungarian Empire.
or Hidrobaza and offering a
beautiful view of the famous National Park Brijuni Islands.
