Fabrique D'Armes F. Delu & Co. of Liege, Belgium, introduced the Pieper-Delu in 1921. It was hammer-fired and did not have a grip safety. A second variant was later introduced that added a grip safety and was striker-fired. Production ended at the start of World War II. After the war, Anciens Establissements Pieper obtained leftover parts continued making the second variant in Herstal, Belgium, and it was called the Pieper New Model.
