The meaning of: “salvation” to be saved.

How can we expect to find God's will for our lives, if we pay little or no attention to the supreme will?

There are many things that have to do with what is and is not God's will that the Scriptures declare. But the one absolute is found in His Words.

2 Peter 3:9b
"The Lord is...not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance."

That is the Supreme Will of God for every human being on the planet. I think it's safe to say, that in the mind of God, there's nothing more important in the entire universe than human beings coming to eternal life and escaping the damnation of hell.

So following that course of reason, if the Supreme Will of God, is that all people are saved, then why is it that we tend to pay so little attention to it?

Is it possible that in our search for God's will in our personal lives, If we could go back to the very starting point and ask for the ground & foundation of understanding and revelation, that is, His Supreme Will, then we would be able to work from a position of a proper world view from the mind of God, and then begin to discern more accurately, what His will actually in the other areas of our life?

Simply put, if we miss the foundation, or the Supreme Will, what are we building upon? Why are we asking God for things of lesser value?

For example: The Supreme Will of our country's forefathers, as stated in the Declaration of Independence, is Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness. In the natural that leaves out the supreme will of God. The salvation of the human soul. Unless of course, we transfer those principles into spiritual ones.

In other words, in the natural, it would go like this:

Life means the human right to simply live, and not have your physical life taken away by another.

Liberty means the natural physical right to be free from, and not in bondage to, or a slave to another human being.

The pursuit of happiness in the natural simply means the right to pursue what makes you happy within the boundaries of respecting other people's rights as well.

These are all in the natural, and what are forefathers no doubt had in mind when they constituted that grand document. For humankind and these United states to live by.

Now let's transpose that into the spiritual.

Life means eternal life. Aka, the Supreme Will of God. The Life of Jesus, who by the Words of His Own Mouth, stated that He was Life with a capital L. "In Him was Life" and "I Am the Life."

Liberty means freedom from the bondage of sin. That no man or woman would be a slave to sin. "Sin shall not have dominion over you" Is the Lord's will and purpose for all humanity.

The pursuit of happiness. This one might be a little more difficult in spiritual terms. Because we're not necessarily promised happiness, which has to do with the word "happenstance" or our current life situation. We're not always promised that the circumstances of our life will l be pleasant.

However, God does up the anti when it comes to this third principle, by saying that we can have joy in this life. Not any joy, the the actual Joy of God placed in to our human frame. And we are also promised that we can have joy in the harshest of circumstances. So I think it's safe to say that joy trump's happiness any the day of the week.

So again, we may think from a political viewpoint, that life liberty in the pursuit of happiness is the most important thing. And in the natural it probably is, but if we miss the Supreme Will of God, which actually is the most important thing, the rest of it really doesn't matter much.

So let us make up our minds and decide that we will get it right. First things first. We will make sure we have oour "Life, Liberty and the pursuit of happiness" in the Spirit first. Which is the Supreme Will of God...Eternal life. Then we're in a solid position for the rest of those things to come without superseding, what God has stated is His Supreme will.
