Southbury operating under ‘state of emergency’ due to intense flooding

The Town of Southbury is currently operating under a State of Emergency. Public Safety officials are currently assessing the damage in town. There are approximately 800 power outages, 15 roadways are completely closed due to flooding conditions and multiple partial roadway closures throughout town. The Pomperaug River is currently 3.5 feet above flood stage.

All residents were strongly encouraged to stay home and stay off the roadways.

Old Field Road @ Bullet Hill Brook
New Road West Flat @ Purchase Brook Rd
Stillson Road S. Georges Hill @ Luna Trail
Lakeside Road @ Lee farm Rd
Jeremy Swamp Rd @ RT67 through Hulls Hill
State Route 172 between Horse Fence Hill and Southbury Training School
Brennan Road @ South Flat Kettletown Road
Main Street South and Main Street North.
