Rays for Days :D! Jetty Fishing in Seal Beach CA!

In this video, I mainly do some good ole jetty fishing over in Seal Beach CA! Started off as a slow day, wasn't getting any bites at first, then it turned into a rays for days if you will haha. Caught a lot of different random fish: Thornback rays, Round Stingrays, Shovelnose Guitarfish, Yellowfin Croakers, even a Leopard Shark! Overall, had 8 total catches, it was definitely rays for days! Everything was caught and released, I used to come to this jetty a lot as a kid with my dad, I should come back here more often. I love jetty fishing in seal beach, there was also a lot of junk that washed up and got stuck to the jetty, I also found my lanyard, somehow got that lucky. Don gave me this lanyard years ago, it's sturdy and it's my favorite, woulda sucked to lose it.

#firstfishfreedom is a tradition that I started a while back. The basis for this tradition is to release the first fish you catch, regardless of what it is (prized, PB, good eats, maybe even world record someday haha). I will only keep the first fish if it is gravely wounded or gut shotted (and a species I can legally keep). If I keep the first fish, then I will pass on the tradition to the second fish, and so forth. Any day of fishing is a blessing, catching a fish and beating the skunk is another blessing on top of that, so I want to return that blessing and luck back to the fish, so they may live another day, get bigger, and maybe I catch them again in the future c:

Gear Showcase In This Video (These links help support my channel, as an Amazon Associate, I earn from qualifying purchases :D)

https://amzn.to/39dNdHF (Okuma Celilo Salmon/ Steelhead 8'6" Medium, a really good solid beginner rod in my opinion, I'd use it for surf fishing and jetty fishing. Good flexibility for casting far and feeling bites and good reach fishing over rocks for me :D)

https://amzn.to/3ED5ERL (Penn Pursuit III 3000) Choose the correct size for your needs! Clam = Package Type c: This is a good budget reel for beginners, I like the way it handles and it is very comfortable to use. It has great line capacity for 20lb braid so it's a great go-to reel for medium to light setups.

https://amzn.to/3vCCgGX (Fishing Bait Thread, very helpful for securing non-sturdy baits to your hook, highly recommended if you use bait such as mussels!)

https://amzn.to/3Kgo38c (I normally use braided, my default line for general purpose is 20 lb Power Pro Spectra Braided Line, Moss Green. Choose the lb you need for what you're targeting, but you can never go wrong with this brand).

https://amzn.to/3EDRdNh (GoPro Hero9 Black: The GoPro I'm currently using. Great battery life, especially when filming in 1080p. Favorite function is the stabilization option, keeps footage from getting too jumbly :D)
