US arrests reputed Peruvian gang leader wanted for 23 killings in his home country

Gianfranco Torres-Navarro, a reputed Peruvian gang leader accused of 23 murders, was arrested by U.S. immigration authorities in Endicott, New York.

Torres-Navarro, leader of the gang “Los Killers,” had entered the U.S. illegally in May and was wanted in Peru for numerous violent crimes, including the extortion of construction companies and the killing of rivals.

His girlfriend, Mishelle Sol Ivanna Ortíz Ubillús, who played a significant role in the gang, was also arrested. Both are being held pending immigration hearings, CNN has reported.
