Gospel of Luke #18 The Calling of Levi (8-18-2024)

Exposition of the Gospel of Luke - Chapter 5 vs 27-32
Jesus calls a young man by the name of Levi, who was a tax collector, to be one of His twelve disciples. Because Levi answers the call of Jesus to "Follow Me" he leaves everything and thus he become the evangelist we now know as Matthew. To understand everything that is actually going on here in this record of Jesus' ministry we must study and understand both the New and the Old Covenant. We all risk being guilty of the sin of presumption if we do not study the entire Word and full council of God. (Deuteronomy 17:1-13, Proverbs 21:24, Hebrews 10:19-29, 1 Corinthians 5:7-11)
